John and Joan Olivier, wine tasting at L'Olivier wine & olive estate
Hidden away in Stellenbosch Kloof is L’Olivier wine and olive estate. John & Joan Olivier escaped the remnants of the UK winter for a weeks in Cape Town and requested a visit to the wine estate with their namesake.
Farm manager Andre provided a warm welcome to L’Olivier wine and olive estate, which is mainly marketed as a self-catering guest house. Tastefully furnished, this tranquil haven is ideal for a small group or large family wanting to experience the beauty of the wine region off the usual tourist route.
There were two wines for tasting (branded as Non Pareil). The Sauvignon blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon were delicious which was hardly surprising when I was informed that the winemaker was Mike Dobrovic (ex-Mulderbosch). Please telephone 021 794 1031 to enquire about renting this property.
